On September 13, the Board held a special session at the Reserve Officers’ Association to meet with members of the 2010-2011 Technical Panel on Assumptions and Methods. The Board also met with Kelly Croft, SSA’s Deputy Commissioner for Systems and Chief Information Officer. Mr. Croft described SSA’s efforts with its Information Resources Management Plan, Internet authentication, systems modernization, and capacity planning. On September 14, the Board met with Scott Frey, SSA’s Deputy Commissioner for Legislation and Congressional Affairs; Phil Gambino, SSA’s Assistant Deputy Commissioner for Communications; and Darrell Taylor of SSA’s Office of Communications. Mr. Gambino and Mr. Taylor discussed SSA’s Office of Communications and some of its current initiatives.
