Day 1 of the October board meeting was held at Social Security Headquarters in Baltimore MD. The Board asked to meet with the Deputy Commissioners (DCs) of Budget, Finance, and Management; Retirement and Disability Policy, Human Resources; and Operations. Each DC explained in their presentation: the structure of their organization, role and responsibilities, key organizational processes, performance measures for which they are responsible and their progress, unique challenges and major concerns. For Day 2 of the meeting, the board met with Bruce D. Meyer, Member, Commission on EvidenceBased Policymaking (CEP); McCormick Foundation Professor, University of Chicago; Visiting Scholar, American Enterprise Institute.
