In the morning the Board met with Dr. John Kregel from the Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), who gave a brief overview and history of the Social Security Administration’s Work Incentive Planning and Assistance (WIPA) program as well as the particular challenges and accomplishments the program has experienced over the years. In the afternoon, the Board met with Curtis L. Decker from the National Disability Rights Network (NDRN) to discuss the Protection and Advocacy for Beneficiaries of Social Security (PABSS) program. Later on in the afternoon the Board met with SSA executives Manuel de la Puente and Debra Tidwell-Peters from the Office of Research, Evaluation, and Statistics (ORES).
